Milebuilding for fun and for experience
~ Long trips, watches at night, building up experience ~

When you want to make progress in your RYA scheme towards Yachtmaster, you will need to build up experience and experience comes with the Miles. For those having passed the Competent Crew certificate and looking to go for the Dayskipper, Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster certificate, a minimum amount of miles is needed, different foreign ports and a number of night hours at sea. For many years we have already planned passages to places like Harwich, Southwold and Lowestoft and other foreign ports. In a few days days, you will be there and back, with loads of experience from a trip to remember.

How it works

We gather at the specified time. Together we plan the route, do the victualling and make all necessary preparations. Depending on wind and tide, our departure time will be in the course of the day or evening.
This course will not get you a certificate, you will however gain an invaluable lot of Miles and experience, that will help you to be a safe, skillful ans experienced skipper!
The instructor can sign off the sailed miles and ports in your logbook.

Check your passport

At sea you always need a valid passport, for the UK an ID is not allowed.
Check requirements before boarding!
And when you need a visa, be sure to get it in time.

Other than that:

Bring your sailing gear. If you do not have good sailing gear, it can be rented from us for 10 Euro/day.
Bring a sleeping bag and a pillowcase.
